Curriculum
Reading- Through whole and small group instruction and the Into Reading program we will focus on expanding vocabulary, deepening comprehension, and building fluency.
Writing- Throughout the year, we will write multiple narratives, respond to literature, craft procedural pieces, and develop researched presentations.
Math- In math we will cover addition and subtraction up to 1,000. We will focus on number patterns and place value and reasoning strategies. It is important that you are practicing math facts at home! This can be flash cards, extra math on the computer, or as simple as writing down facts for your student to practice.
Social Studies- In Social Studies, we will cover how to be a responsible citizen, how people interact with the environment, how to identify choices and decision making, and how communities have changed over time.
Science- We will explore how ecosystems work and learn about landforms and how they change over time as well as discovering the properties of matter in our last unit.
